Hello lovelies!
I’m just about recovered from a mad weekend of emotions, education and excitement that was called Cybermummy!
Cybermummy11 was so much more than I expected – so much bigger and yet so much more relaxed than I had anticipated. I was so excited when I was offered sponsorship by the lovelies at Yoomi to attend the UK’s premier blogging conference, but that excitement soon changed to nervousness when I found out my blog post ‘telling the real story of my Twitterbirth’ had been chosen to be read out – by me, infront of all those hundreds of mummy bloggers!
Cybermummy was huge! Full of workshops to attend and a chill-out area where you could get a free massage and make-over (sadly I left it until the afternoon when every other blogger had already started queueing, so missed out!)
There were lots of companies with tables full of goodies to take home, including Disney, where I was blown away by the goody bag for Miss B and Oscar! Dvds, Disney CD’s books and toys- wow!
There were competitions, cakes, (ooh the cakes,) juices, coffee, wine (ooh the wine) and a good choice for lunch (a little light but enough for me.) Not to mention the arm breakingly full goody bags full of fab stuff to take home!
I met so many lovely bloggers and companies that my head is still a swirl from all the information and chats I had over the weekend.
I met a lovely group of mummy bloggers who were such a giggle and have made a few good friends that I’ll always keep in touch with both in the blogging world and for meet-ups!
I also met a few famous faces including the rather lovely Sarah Brown who’s speech was inspirational and educational.
What a woman!
My favourite workshops were Jay’s photography workshop and the ‘how to be a blogger activist’ workshop.
Jays photography workshop was ace! We learned so much in such a short space of time, and such valuable tips that I’ve already put to use and have noticed the difference in my photographs (thanks lady – you rock!)
The ‘how to be a blogger activist’ really put a lump in my throat hearing from the bloggers who’d been out right at there at the heart of terrible problems, seeing ill, dying children shared their stories with us and showed us how we can make a difference.
It all got too much for Sian (who’s trip you can read about here) and Josie took over and gave an unexpected but really good and heartfelt speech.
The blogger activist workshop has made me even more determined now to make my #Borntoplay date a success and rasie money for Save the children. (You can read all about that here.)
At the end of Cybermummy it was time for the chosen bloggers to read out their posts. Some posts were very emotional, and some very funny.
My knees were knocking when it was my turn to speak, but I think I did O.K, even when I got a little choked up. I had so many lovely comments at the after party from so many bloggers that I felt really overwhelmed by the support. That evening and everyday since, I’ve had literally hundreds of tweets of support for my post. I can’t thank you enough for the warm response I received!
Now, you may have noticed that I didn’t go alone to Cybermummy? I had a furry friend- the CCIF mascot CCIF Gerrard (who by the way now has his own Twitter account!) Gerrard had a blast- he’s a bit of a ladies bear. You can read his Cybermummy experience here!
Emotional, educational, fantabulous, exhausting and overwhelming!
Thanks to the founders Jennifer Howze, Sian To and Susanna Scott for making Cybermummy so utterly fabulous. I had a blast!

I’m glad that you had a good time and it was truly lovely to meet you. You did so well with your reading and I think the fact that you got emotional just makes it all the more real! You rock lovely x
Hey thanks lovely lady! Was great to meet you too! You going next year?
I really enjoyed listening to you read your post. I hope that the experience of sharing it with a supportive audience went a little way to balancing out the appalling treatment you received at the hands of the media.
Thank you! Yea-it actually really helped- especially all the lovely, positive comments I had in the bar afterwards and since on here and twitter!
Hey hair twin… thanks for coming.
xx
