Birches Valley Forestry Commission is great for kids of all ages, great large woodchip play area, cafe and toilet facilities. Sadly, it’s got many tables for picnics.
It has a walk through fairy forest, and lots of scope for linking to early years education, including a story telling area. It is safe and clean, suitable for all ages really. They have Forest Tots on Tuesdays (first tues of the month) but booking is required.
Another outdoor/nature/wildlife place that is great for kids is Staffordshire Wildlife Trust (Wolseley Bridge) its fantastic for kids of all ages, they have lots of activities on all though the year, full day and half day sessions for different age groups, things like pond dipping, bug hunts etc, all the kids I’ve childminded and my own absolutely love it there. It is free to walk around, has a basic shop. I would recommend taking your own food/drink.
Amerton Farm is also really nice for a day out, it has lots for the children to do. A nice shop (that sells really nice children’s toys and other lovely things), a cafe/restaurant, bakery, sweetshop, home made ice cream and local produce.
The bakery does amazing cakes and homemade produce, there is a play barn for older children wouldn’t recomment it for babies as its a hard floor, although there is a bouncy castle/soft area its split into two rooms. There are a few animals the children can touch, and handwashing facilities.
There is also a ride along steam train along a really rickerty track but its good fun! Quite an expensive day out though if you do everything its about £40-£50!!
Shugborough is really good for children too, and for an annual pass of £20 you get access with the children to all parts and cake with a cup of tea in the cafe, it is very clean and a lovely day out.
The only bad place I have been recently was the Barley Mow wacky it was shabby and quite dirty inside!
