Up all night!

I have a big challenge tonight.

A huge challenge.

I have to keep my 2 year old up ALL night.

Little Oscie boy has had seizures (non febrile) over the past 6 months. He’s only had 3, but the last one (last week) was terrifying as he was ‘out of it’ for 50 minutes.

Tomorrow we are off to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for another EEG, but this time it’s a sleep deprived test.

Our consultant wants Oz awake all night before the test.

Oscar sleeps every night 6pm ~ 7.30am

Oscar LOVES his bed and sleep.

Oscar is going to hate me.

I feel rubbish about doing this to him and I’m desperately trying to think of ideas to help him stay awake and make the night as nice as it can be.

Any ideas lovelies?

Oh wow, that’s a toughie. Lots of stimulation, I guess. If he starts to wane, take him for a stroll, show him an energetic tv show he likes, take drawing supplies with you – other than that, I’m stumped as I have a child who I have to fight to get to sleep, even at 4 and a half!

Good luck and I hope it all goes well.

The EEG will be done in the morning Shelly at the hospital.

It’s less stressful for little ones to sleep deprive at home. I’d rather be at home than in hospital.
