How to make a Christmas Wreath!

As part of my homemade Christmas challenge I decided to try my hand at a few decorations! We made salt dough decorations last week and decorated them over the weekend (the finished loveliness will be here tomorrow!)

So I thought to myself – how hard could it be to make a Christmas wreath? The answer? Actually not that hard at all if you don’t take it too seriously!

My hands are rather scratched so make sure you wear some good gardening gloves when handling the holly!

To make a homemade Christmas wreath you’ll need:

Holly
Ivy
Bendy branches
Green gardening wire
Baubles
Battery fairy lights (optional)
Pine cones

How to:

1. Starting with the bendy branches and garden wire, bend into a circle shape and wrap the wire around and around, to secure the circle.

2. Add more branches to the circle and secure with wire.

3. Add the ivy, wrapping around and around.

4. Add the holly. Be careful – it’s tricky and hurts!

5. Finally add the baubles using wire to secure.

6. You can add lights to add extra magic but this is optional. (We bought battery lights from the B&M store for £1.29!)

Tie some ribbon around the top of your wreath and hang on your front door!

Go on! Have a go! It’s a lot easier than it sounds. I’d love to see your finished results so do link up to the Homemade Christmas challenges!

    That looks so pretty!

I might have a go (although I’ve already got a wreath on the front door), but hey, who says you can’t have one on the back door too?

I’ve got loads of holly in the garden.

Thanks Maggy! I’m trying my best to keep it up… Done quite a lot of cooking/sewing still unblogged… If you’ve any loveliness to add please do! I’ve still two weeks right?
