Butterless Sandcastle cakes – Enjoying the seaside at home!

These butterless sandcastle cakes were made purely because we wanted to make cakes, but had no butter. The substitute? Milk!

We were supposed to go to the seaside today but Boo was poorly and so we had to cancel. So upset was Boo that we decided to bring a little of the seaside home by making sandcastle cakes! I’d no idea how they would turn out – but actually, they tasted great, so we will make them again for sure!

You’ll need:

200g Self raising flour

200g sugar

3 eggs

1 pint of milk

Teaspoon of Baking powder

Crushed chocolate pieces

How to:

1. Whisk the eggs in a mixer

2. Add the sugar

3. Add the milk

4. Gradually add the flour and baking powder

5. Crush the chocolate in a sandwich bag with a rolling pin and add to the mix.

Pop the mixture into 12 cake cases and bake in the oven on 180 for 15-20 minutes or until brown!

Easy-peasy Butterless Sandcastle cakes! Why not have a go and the seaside at home?
