Place2Be launched the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to support children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. Now in its fourth year, they hope to encourage more people than ever to get involved and spread the word.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2018 – #BeingOurselves

Some children and young people can find it difficult to think positively about themselves. Low self-esteem affects more than 8 in 10 of the pupils who have Place2Be one-to-one support.

That’s why this Children’s Mental Health Week (5-11 February 2018) they’re highlighting the importance of ‘Being Ourselves’. Place2Be is inviting everyone – children, young people and adults – to come together and celebrate the unique qualities and strengths in themselves and others.

When we have a positive view of ourselves, it can help us to cope with life’s challenges and make better connections with others.

At the same time, celebrating the unique strengths of the people around us can enable us to come together in our schools, workplaces and communities.

Whether you’re a parent, someone who works with children, or even just someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people’s mental health – you can support the campaign by getting involved and spreading the wordYou can download some top tips and activities here

Place2Be is delighted to launch Children’s Mental Health Week 2018 with a special video from our Royal Patron, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, filmed by BAFTA Kids. For this year’s theme ‘Being Ourselves’, Her Royal Highness spoke with pupils, parents and staff at Place2Be Partner School Reach Academy Feltham about how we can support children to be the best version of themselves.
