What is World Book Day?
World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
What’s really fantabulous is that every child up to 18 years in full-time education is entitled to a £1 book token! how extremely cool is that?!
To celebrate World Book Day next week, we thought we’d share some of our favourite books with you, have guest blogs about books and reading with littlies, and read you one of our favourite books that makes us laugh!
So, don’t forget to come back to Childcare is Fun next week when we share with you our costume ideas for littlies celebrating World book day at school, book themed cooking and art activities and general book love!
We’d love you to share your favourite books with us, so if you’d like to guest post next week, or just want to share you favourite stories, then feel free to get in touch or leave a comment below!
