I hate flying.
I’m not great as a passenger in a car, dislike trains but planes? Argh they terrify me! I mean, it’s not normal is it? A huge object up in the air?
So, with my fear in mind, picture the scene. My first flight alone, walking towards the tiniest, propeller plane you’ve ever seen.
Seriously – it was like a toy from Hamleys!
I boarded. I hyperventilated.
I sat down. I hyperventilated.
I looked at the safety card. I hyperventilated.
The man who I was sitting next to moved to the seat in-front before take off. I think he thought I had a screw lose, (either that or my 4am deodorant had worn off!)
I’m currently flying above the sea on my way to Amsterdam. Im flying in a 19.73m x 21.44m metal bus being held in the air by 2 x General Electric CT7-9B turboprops. ( Get me, plane geeks!)
I’ve written my will, a note to my loved ones and I’ve read the flight safety card 23 times. Every few minutes I check those teeny propellers that are responsible for transporting 25 passengers, are spinning fast.
(If this post makes it to ‘publish’ on here remind me never to fly alone on a teeny plane again.)
I’m sure it just a control thing. Of I was flying the plane is be fine- the same with trains!
A fear of Planes, trains and automobiles? I think I have a problem!
