TMNT Raphael water melon head!

Ah, are your little ones are TMNT obsessed like mine? Yes? Well this my lovelies will make you super-parent popular with your ninja turtle fan!

It’s a little tricky for very young children to do so let them just do the scooping but. Older TMNT fans will need supervision while cutting as it’s pretty tough going. It’s worth investing in a pumpkin carving kit that’s a little safer than sharp knives.

You’ll need:

*A water melon
*Cocktail sticks (to hold the eyes in place)
*A red tea light holder (or colour a glass one red with a marker pen like I did!)
*A pumpkin carving kit or knife

How to:

1. Cut the top off the melon, save it (it’ll be going back on afterwards) and scoop out the inside. Little ones can scoop with spoons. My two loves this and ate chunks of juicy watermelon while doing so!

2. Draw your ninja mask and mouth on with marker pen. My husband did this one and is far better an artist than me!

3. Using your carving kit or knife, cut along the lines carefully.

4. Shape some eyes out of the excess melon skin and fix into place with the cocktail sticks.

There you have a Raphael ninja dude! You can of course make your melon head into any of the ninja turtles by changing the candle holder colour inside!
