The Volvo XC60

Ernie our new Volvo friend has been with us a good few days now, so I thought I’d share some techy stuff for those car-heads out there that want to know a little more than ‘how handsome’ he is.

I say he – you can read here why we’ve given him a name here.

So Ernie, our temporary car, is a Volvo XC60 (in red) and has rather a large amount of

clever features under his handsome metalic exterior including…

• Advanced all-aluminium 2.0 litre five-cylinder turbo diesel engines
• Superior fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions with front wheel drive
• Remarkable flexibility in all conditions
• 400 Nm (D4) or 350 Nm (D3) torque
• Brake energy charging
• Start/Stop technology (manual)
• six-speed Geartronic automatic gearbox

The Volvo XC60 is not easy on the purse coming in at around £38,645.00 on the road or £46,740.00 with the added extras Ernie has. He’s definitely a car for the family with a bigger budget who can afford luxury, but don’t let that put you off – he is seriously worth every penny.

This Volvo has been made with family comfort in mind, and comfort indeed is everywhere in this car. From the digital TV to the heated seats – a ride in Ernie is a pleasure and one we look forward to! Cue a very excited 3 year old Betsy this morning… “Hi Ernie! It’s time for you to take me to nursery school!” (followed by a big hug!)

From the digital radio to the Front Blind View Camera the Volvo XC60 oozes style, tech-wizardry and quality. A quality that you’d expect from the reputable name of Volvo.
