The ordinary moments – our daily Physio

20130924-102224.jpg

As many of you already know my little Bendy Boo has Hypermobility Syndrome.

This means she’s super bendy and often dislocates.

Boo wears special supports in her shoes to support her joints and also has to do daily physio.

Sometimes she doesn’t want to do her physio and sometimes she likes to show off how clever she is at remembering all of her exercises!

These daily physio sessions, for us, are ordinary moments. But these ordinary moments often are wonderful, giggly, together moments.

This one we call the bridge! Boo has to lift her bottom off the floor while keeping her legs together (try it! It’s not easy!) we often end up falling and laughing.

This next one is special because before her physio sessions, Boo couldn’t lie flat on her tummy. It was too painful for her. But look! Now she can almost lie totally flat and that’s after only 8 months of physio!

Her favourite exercise is hugging her knees! If they’ve been good and not dislocated that day she tells them she loves them! If they’ve been bad she tells them off!

Her daily physio takes us around half an hour and it’s just an ordinary part of our day.

An ordinary moment shared with you.

I’m linking this post with Mummy, Daddy, me for her weekly link up project. Click on the picture below to find out more.

It’s so great to hear she’s getting on so well. We found physio a huge help. We don’t yet know the extent of F’s hypermobility – she doesn’t dislocate and doesn’t seem to be in pain now she has the insoles, but it’s fantastic to hear such a positive outcome from another little girl who is so bendy. x

Thanks Molly – I can’t believe the difference the shoe inserts and physio has made. We’ve gone from 2-3 dislocations a week to 1 a month! It’s incredible.

She’s on a waiting list for hydrotherapy too. Apparently that’s super fantastic for HMS.

She’s now realising how cool it is to do the splits and put her legs around her neck. Something she’s not supposed to do. Party tricks of the future university parties possibly – little monkey!

I didn’t realise your daughter had this. It must be tough for her to do it everyday but I love how you can still laugh and have a good time. And doesn’t she look just like you! Bless her! x

Thanks! Great idea for a link up – you’re so right about the ordinary moments passing by so quickly. They are special.

As for Betsy – she’s kinda used to it now I think – but we have days where she aches and isn’t keen to do it.

She’s doing really well though now. Long may it continue.

She is gorgeous. So lovely to see your smiling little girl is just as lovely as you.
