Run Team Noah Run! Part one…

What an amazing weekend it has been. I’ve had to break this story into two parts because there is just so much to tell.

All the training, sweat and tears to complete 13.1 miles of the Stafford Half Marathon 2013.

Waiting at the end for Vicki and I were our wonderful family and friends and little baby Noah beaming that gorgeous smile as if to say ‘Thank-You’ my Team of mummies! Thank-You!’

Every painful step taken today is forgotten when I look at how much we have raised. Just two of us managed a brilliant £730! We have offline donations to add and more donations coming in so will reveal our total amount this week.

Running a half marathon is no easy task, if anyone tells you it is, they haven’t done it.  Running a half marathon and tweeting your way around? Well let’s just say I think my Twitterbirth was easier! It was so worth it though because both #TeamNoah AND #HugsForNoah trended on Sunday!

Every inch of me aches, every step hurts and stairs are like climbing a mountain while being stabbed with hot pokers. The Stafford Half marathon course is hillier than Wales and tougher than Mr T, But we did it. Two mums on a mission to raise funds for Noah and to raise awareness of Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus and the importance of taking Folic Acid. (You can read more about that here.)

I’ll be writing more about our run and the Team Noah weekend this week, but in the mean time I wanted to tell you we are SO incredibly close to our target if we combine it with our offline donations. So if you’d still like to donate you can do so here and we’d be so thrilled.

This weekend has been so emotional – I think I’ve spent the best part of it crying – but the thing I’ll remember the most is the amazing support from friends, family and the wonderful Stafford people shouting “Run Team Noah Run!”
