Sleepless nights could be a thing of the past…
Thanks to Ewan the dream sheep made by the lovelies at www.easidream.co.uk.
Easidream went to great lengths to make sure that they used the best possible sounds in Ewan the dream sheep.
With the help of the UoB’s foetal monitoring equipment, the actual womb sounds and heartbeat of a pregnant mum were recorded by the team. These sounds were then combined with household, musical and natural sounds at low bass frequencies of 125hz to produce ‘pink noise.’
This is the type of noise that babies predominantly hear when in the womb, which is why it is so effective.
Parents were asked to trial a selection of sounds at home to find out which ones worked best with their baby and from these results, the top 4 most popular sounds were selected to be used in Ewan.
The sounds were then added to a soothing pink glow that emits from Ewans tummy. (Research has shown that babies are comforted by certain aspects of the womb, so a pink ambient glow was a natural choice for Ewan.)
All of these ingredients, we think, make Ewan the perfect soother for restless babies.
What our testers Fi & oscar thought:
Ewan has blown us away!
Oscar, is only 7 weeks old and has suffered with silent reflux since he was two weeks old.
Reflux medication works most of the time, but getting Oscar to settle is hard as when he lays down, this is when the pain strikes most.
Ewan is simply brilliant.
I turned him on for the first time thinking, this is not going to work, and was amazed by how quickly he soothed and settled little Oscar!
Within seconds, Oscar stopped wiggling in discomfort and calmed down, turning towards the pink glow and sound! I couldn’t believe it!
