When you’re faced with a very wet school run, don’t complain. Dance in the rain!
When the little ones are screaming and break your day dreaming, don’t lose your cool – break all the rules! Join in the noise!
Sing.
Dance.
Play.
When you can’t get to sleep, don’t weep. Get up and do something nice. Sew, read, go watch your children sleep. Enjoy the peace. Feel alive in that short moment of calm.
When faced with housework and chores, don’t find it a bore – make it fun. Let the littlies see that mundane tasks don’t have to be dull. See the glass as always half full.
When you could sleep for a hundred years, don’t cry exhausted tears – snuggle up with your little ones and watch movies and rest – it’s what a tired parent does best.
When work news is bad, take a moment to be sad. Then move forward. Take a lesson from it and start again. Don’t dwell on bad news. Change your views and aim for better.
When everything seems lost – Take charge be the boss! Barge away doubt. Take the world by the hair and shout. You’ll succeed. You’ll do what you need.
When your child asks you why there is blue in the sky, why the birds sleep in trees and what is a breeze – take time to answer. Be there. Care. Take time to share the moment before it’s lost.
When your head is full of ideas but paused by fears – take courage and do, begin something new. Be brave, unafraid.
Inspire and be inspired.
Take time every day to see if others are OK. Lend an ear, a shoulder for a tear, a friendly smile or phrase for others down days.
Because life is so short.
Things can change in an instant.
For your family every moment you are around is a good day. So embrace each day like a splendid gift.
Love each moment.

I’ve written this post in memory of a very special friend called Kerry taken too soon this time last year.

Lovely post. We all need to think this way more often.
