He misses her while she’s at pre-school,
He hates to wave goodbye,
We’ve yet a morning drop-off,
Where he didn’t cry.
He’s quiet on the journey home,
He barely says a thing,
Even his favourite song ‘firework’
Doesn’t make him sing.
We craft, we play, we walk the dog,
The morning is quickly past,
When I mention ‘pick up’ time,
I’ve never seen him move so fast!
She loves her mornings learning,
the painting, fun, and play,
But she misses him and when they greet,
I have to turn away!
They hug so tightly, smile and laugh,
They chat like its been years,
I have to turn away sometimes to avoid the start of tears!
But although he misses her so much,
It’s still very early days,
She loves her nursery, he loves our time,
We’ll soon get set in our ways.
As they grow much older,
When the toddler years have passed,
I hope this bond they have – so strong,
will surely ever last.
