Dressing up is fun!

Old hats, dresses and shoes of mine, a few bought outfits and some rather lovely Disney dresses outgrown and given to Betsy by her friend Izzy ~ our box of fancy dress is full!

Recently Betsy has taken to dressing me up too, like some grown-up dolly! Being a shorty, I can get into a few of the kids dress-up outfits, which she thinks is marvellous – however, it’s not so easy to get out of them in a hurry when you need to answer the door. I’m sure the postman thinks I’m a bit bonkers when he sees I’m dressed as a fairy or more recently, Cinderella!

Occasionally I’ll let Betsy do make-up on me or style my hair. She loves it and the crazy-lady look she seems to always achieve makes me pray we have no unexpected visitors.

I think it’s easy as parents to sit back and watch our little ones play. We often have so much to do that playing with children is at the bottom of the ‘to do’ list.

But dishes and washing can surely wait sometimes can’t they?

Is it really that important to send that email right now or make that call, or can you take a moment to be a fairy for an hour?
