The thing I enjoyed most working as a Nursery Nurse was storytime.
Sitting infront of 25 little ones all staring at me excitedly as I read the latest favourite book or an old classic. The joy of hearing them ask to go on the adventure again or talking to each other about the characters made me want to find more and more exciting books to read to them.
Working as a professional nanny my love of reading grew even more. Snuggly days sharing stories, visits to the library to choose new adventures to read, and as they grew- teaching them to read and encouraging them to love books the way I do.
Now I have my own children my love of books is as big as it gets! I’m constantly ordering new books and sharing the old classics I read with my class and groups years ago. It makes me smile to think the stories I read to the now grown-up girls and boys are still enjoyed today by my 2 & 3 year old in the cosy corner of their rooms.
That’s the great thing about books – the good ones last forever and create magical memories that last a lifetime. Memories that one day my children will share with their children – sharing the adventures you can only have when you get lost inside a story.

I love the cushions and all the books – very inviting! I may pop round and you can read to me.
