24 hours with Spilgames in Amsterdam!

I’m not long back from a fabulous 24 hours in Amsterdam where I was lucky enough to meet the team behind a new game ‘Sara’s cooking class’ (You can read more about that here.)

The flight was only an hour from Birmingham, so I arrived with plenty of time to do a little shopping and sight seeing! (And no, before you ask, I didn’t pop into any coffee shops!)

I succeeded in my Amsterdam shopping mission to find little clogs (see my two very happy littlies wearing them pictured below.) I also found a cute little book shop and bought a Dutch copy of The Gruffalo! I think that’s going to make bedtime reading fun!

Amsterdam is really pretty – I especially love the canals (more than one hundred kilometres of them) and bridges, so when we were surprised by the team at Spilgames with a boat trip in the evening I was really rather chuffed!

Once we were all aboard our canal boat we were dressed in chef hats and aprons and given ‘Sara’s cooking’ cards with simple recipes to follow!

The smells that filled the boat were amazing and everyone really got involved with their cooking challenge!

We paired up and cooked ourselves a wonderful dinner – a mini feast that looked and tasted amazing (our little duo made the tomato and mozzarella starters pictured above left!)

With the dinner prepared and cooked and the wine flowing, we all enjoyed our meal while chatting and cruising down the Amsterdam canal. What a perfect way to end a short but very sweet stay in Amsterdam!
