Beautiful child portraits

As a parent you want to capture every moment of your child’s life…

Camera memory cards are always maxed out in the first few months of parenthood and computers are rammed with photos of every momentous occasion. However, in this digital age we rarely have our precious photos on display.

Sometimes our most favourite memories are hidden on files in our Macbooks and laptops, only looked at once in a while!

How lovely would it be to have those very precious photographs turned into a beautiful painting?

Here at CCIF we have found a company that can do exactly that!

‘Children’s portraits’ take your favourite photographs and turn them into an amazing original piece of hand painted artwork. Each piece is lovingly created on canvas with artist acrylic paints, using traditional techniques.

What’s even more fabulous, is that they can even match you painting to your home colour scheme! you simply let them know the paint or pantone reference and they will then ensure that the painting matches your decor! How fantastic is that?

How much does it cost?

Anyone with an eye for art, knows that paintings aren’t cheap, so it’s importnant to bear in mind that each portrait is a bespoke piece of art and will be quoted based on size, style, complexity and most importantly the picture you provide. However, the size of painting does not always mean a higher cost.

Typically costs for paintings start at £150 and range up to £850. Pretty reasonable for a unique piece of artwork!

How does it work?

Childrens portraits create their beautiful paintings in three easy stages, the first two of which we tried out for ourselves (with the help of our editors daughter, Miss B!)

Stage 1:

You E-mail your chosen photograph along with the required size (We sent a photograph of Miss B aged 10 months.)

Tell them your home decor colour, (if you tell them your colour scheme or  send a picture of the wall or room you want the picture to hang on ,they can match or give you some advice!) They will then work up an initial sketch and e-mail it back to you.

Stage 2:

A sketch in digital format will be emailed back to you and await your approval.

We were sent a selection of wonderful sketches (our editor loved them all but her favourite is pictured left) the rest you can see below.

Once approved, they will then confirm the price dependant on size and style. The sketch will then be worked up into your original painting on canvas with acrylic paint using traditional methods.

Stage 3:

The painting once completed will be sent out to you by special delivery, or you could visit their studio (they’re based on the Herts/Essex border) to collect.

Dependant on how busy they are and the size of the canvas you require, Childrens portraits can usually complete, and get  your painting to you in two weeks.

Sound fantastic? Simply send your favourite picture to them to base the painting on and they will send you a NO OBLIGATION quote and sketch!
